Sounds Good Book 1

It’s always been me and the guys since high school — Blake, Martin, Paul, and Tyson. Our crew used to be bigger, back when their sisters hung out with us before taking off to conquer the world. Now, it’s just the four of us on Friday nights, shooting pool and being idiots. I try not to think about their sisters — those four stunningly hot, utterly out-of-my-league siblings. Sure, I’ve got a history with each of them, but that’s a slippery slope, thanks to the code, the unspoken agreement that forbids any of us from dating each other’s sisters.

Honestly, I’d be all for it if I had a sister. Instead, it’s a constant reminder of my predicament when Brittany waltzes back into my life, needing help with her music. Home from LA and sporting a record deal, she’s a year younger at twenty-two, with flowing blonde hair and those infuriatingly teasing smiles that distract me while I’m just trying to keep my job at the record store. It feels almost like old times, except way more complicated.

As she helps at the store and I help her write, we get closer, and soon enough, those lines I vowed not to cross end up in the rearview. Just when I think I can handle the tangle of emotions, a surprise dinner with Samantha — Paul’s stunning auburn-haired lingerie model sister — takes a wild turn. She suggests something madness-inducing. She wants to share me with Brittany.

And just when I thought things couldn’t get any crazier, in comes Octavia, Tyson’s nineteen-year-old socialite sister who thinks I’m her ride or die, and everything spins out of control.

Now I’m left wondering how to navigate this chaotic attention while keeping my friends blissfully unaware. It’s not just my heart on the line. It’s the entire fabric of our friend group hanging in the balance.
